Pack 975 Planned Activities

Along with Pack Meetings and Den Meetings, Cub Scout Pack 975 plans and participates in several Special Activites year round.

This highlights some of the things we do.

Fall –

  • School Night for Scouting-Recruitment:

We are excited to add the new Phillips Elementary to our recruiting class of Robertson Elementary and Boals Elementary

  • We have a Family Campout where Scouts, Parents and Siblings are invited to camp with other pack families. We do fun activities, cook, fishing, share stories and skits around the campfire, etc.
  • We try to plan and participate in a community charity function.
  • Scouts are invited to participate in Council and District day and overnight events such as Webelos Outdoor Weekend, C.U.B.E., Tiger Cub Lock-in, etc.

Winter –

  • In January we hold our annual Pinewood Derby where boys build derby cars and then compete in a race. It is always one of the highlight events for scouts.
  • In February we have our Blue & Gold Banquet where we celebrate the founding of Boy Scouts. It is also when our oldest scouts (Webelos II) graduate and crossover into a Boy Scout Troop.
  • We participate in the BSA “Scouting for Food” charity event. This is a nationwide, once a year, charity event held by Boy Scouts of America.

Spring –

  • We are planning on having our first Raingutter Regatta. This is where the scouts will prepare special sail boats and then race them down raingutters using only their air to propel them to the finish.
  • We have a Family Campout where Scouts, Parents and Siblings are invited to camp with other pack families. We do fun activities, cook, fishing, share stories and skits around the campfire, etc.
  • Scouts are invited to participate in Council and District day and overnight events such as Dad-n-Lad Campout, etc.

Summer –

  • We have a Family Campout where Scouts, Parents and Siblings are invited to camp with other pack families. We do fun activities, cook, fishing, share stories and skits around the campfire, etc.
  • Scouts are invited to participate in Council and District day and overnight events such as Twilight Camp, Webelos Summer Camp, Frisco Roughrider Scout Night, etc.
  • The Pack will be touring the DFW Airport flight control center.
  • We will be attending the Frisco Starfest event at the Frisco Square.
  • We hold a pack pool party just before school starts so that the boys can have fun and we can share with each other what fun activities we enjoyed during the summer.

As you can see, we do our best to make sure that the boys in our pack have plenty of fun filled pack activities while still learning many values and skills to help them become well rounded young men.
